Hanson Brick bolsters Carolina Collection with two new simulated tumbled brick styles: Rustic Sand and Tega Cay

CHARLOTTE, N.C., September 13, 2006

Hanson Brick, the brick company of personal style, announces the addition of the Rustic Sand and Tega Cay simulated tumbled brick styles to its Carolina Collection.

“Many homebuyers today want a tumbled look in their brick, almost to the point of looking handmade,” said Cliff Taylor, commercial vice president of Hanson Brick’s East region. “We’ve answered that demand with two new styles that pay homage to the days of pre-industrialized brick production, combining an aged look with sand coating for a softened style.”

Rustic Sand is a simulated-tumbled, red-body brick with light natural sand coating on the face. Tega Cay is similarly tumbled and coated, but with a dark-red-body and black sand accents on a small percentage of the brick to provide variation and an aged appearance.

The simulated tumbling gives both styles a well-worn look favored by people seeking to build a fashionable home unique to their tastes.

“Adding two brick styles with a historic look gives Hanson customers greater selection from which to create a home that reflects their personality,” Taylor said. “We’re continually refreshing our product lines to provide our customers the maximum choice and selection to meet their personal tastes and preferences,” he added.

Both bricks are manufactured at Hanson’s Monroe 3 Plant in Monroe, N.C., and are available in Standard and Engineer sizes throughout Hanson’s 24-state East region, which encompasses the United States east of the Mississippi River.

Hanson Brick is North America's largest brick manufacturer, with approximately 1,600 employees and operations across the United States and Canada.
